Trusted Resources

Abstract Paint Strokes

Finding reliable information about trauma, relationships, sleep, grief, and mental health can be overwhelming.

This page is a collection of books, podcasts, videos, apps, and educational resources that I frequently share with clients, colleagues, and referral partners. My hope is that these resources provide trustworthy information, practical skills, and hope as you continue your own journey.

I'll continue adding to this collection over time as I discover resources, I believe are especially helpful.

Apps

The PTSD Coach app is a free app developed by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs that provides coping tools, education, symptom tracking, and crisis resources.

Reconcilable Differences

Andrew Christensen & Brian Doss

Written by the developers of Integrative Behavioral Couple Therapy (IBCT), this is one of my favorite books for understanding relationship patterns, navigating conflict, and strengthening emotional connection.

Getting Past the Affair

Douglas K. Snyder, Donald H. Baucom, and Kristina Coop Gordon

A practical, research-informed resource for couples navigating the aftermath of infidelity. This book can be helpful when betrayal, trust, and decisions about how to move forward are part of the relationship work. It offers guidance for both partners, whether the goal is rebuilding the relationship or making thoughtful decisions about next steps.

Sleep & Insomnia

The CBT-I Coach app includes Sleep Diaries, used throughout treatment, along with sleep education, tracking tools, and practical exercises that support Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia. This is a companion app meant to be used in therapy.

Grief & Loss

Aerial Beach Waves
Book

When Bad Things Happen to Good People
Harold S. Kushner
A thoughtful exploration of suffering, faith, and meaning after loss. While written from a Jewish perspective, many people find its compassionate approach to life's hardest questions both comforting and thought-provoking.

Podcast

All There Is
Anderson Cooper
Honest conversations about grief, love, resilience, and what it means to continue living after profound loss.

Faith & Trauma

You won't find a curated list of faith-specific books or resources here, that's intentional.

Faith is deeply personal, and what's meaningful for one person can miss the mark entirely for someone else. Rather than offering a fixed set of resources, I find it more useful to explore this in the context of therapy, driven by the questions you are pondering - not the assumptions of a reading list.

Looking for Something Specific?

I'm continually expanding this collection based on questions I receive from clients, clinicians, physicians, pastors, and community partners.

If there's a topic you'd like to see covered, or you're interested in consultation, training, or educational resources for your practice or organization, please reach out.
